Friday 14th July – database and tapestry work

This week has seen the second tapestry workshop with Emma Skeet.  The children were working on stitching the lettering that will be used in the centre of the tapestry.  Throughout the week, Y4 have been continuing work on the database, carefully entering the details of ‘Our Lads’ as we create the searchable database that will be available on the website.  Meanwhile, all three year groups involved in the project have been hard at work completing their social history projects. Year 3 have been finding out about what life was like for a child 100 years ago.  Year 4 have studied how the local area has changed, and Year 5 have been investigating how WW1 changed the role of women in society forever!  This work promises to be insightful, thoughtful, historically accurate and beautifully presented.
