Tuesday 9th May – Year 3 and 4 revisit St Barnabas Church

This morning Year 3 and 4 returned to St Barnabas Church, site of last week’s project launch and the Roll of Honour, to take part in a workshop designed to teach the children a little more about the history of the church and the local area.  Rev. Edward Land and his team had prepared a series of short activities to engage, inspire and inform.  The children found out about the flood of 1912, investigated the stunning East Window, explored the vestry and the outside of the building, and spent some time listening to Neil Storey talk in more detail about the Roll of Honour.  The children were very excited to be back.  When they returned to school they worked together to reflect on and capture their learning from the morning which will provide them with some important local historical knowledge for the project.  Enjoy the gallery.
